What style of house am I?
I have owned two homes; both were brick colonial with a center staircase. Having the center staircase allows for an open space—great for being with family. I enjoy galley-style kitchens with stainless steal appliances with room for gathering, as the kitchen is the heart of the home. An eye-popping landscape and an outside patio / deck is critical for me, and location is also important. Currently we are a 3 minute walk to downtown, close enough to highways and across the street from a park / playground that has an ice rink in the winter!
SVP, EngineeringRyan’s tech philosophy stresses quality above all things, and he believes that if we work to deliver quality every day, then the quality of our products will increase, and our customer base will recognize and appreciate the improved experience of HomeFinder’s tools. Or, for the more mathematically-inclined: Quality/Time=Success.
Growing up in a family of engineers, Ryan has always been passionate about the creation and realization of ideas; it’s no surprise that he considers his career path in technology a “natural fit”.
As an inquisitive child, he even took apart the family PC (a Tandy 1000). Good thing he was able to put it back together again—those skills put him on the path to becoming a true technology pioneer. Today Ryan isn’t dismantling machines on a regular basis, but he has fine-tuned the art of leading the HomeFinder technology group as Chief Technology Officer.
Ryan received his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering from Villanova University with a minor in Computer Science, and holds a Masters in Information Technology Management with a concentration in Project Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology. A big believer in giving back to the tech community of Chicago, Ryan regularly participates in philanthropic technology organizations like T4Youth and I.C. Stars.
Prior to joining the HomeFinder team, Ryan spent two decades in the financial services technology industry, holding leadership positions at PaineWebber, UBS Wealth Management and Grosvenor Capital Management. During that time, he successfully led domestic and global teams focused on the implementation and support of large multi-platform systems.
His experience includes establishing best-in-class data warehouses and BI reporting tools, multi-tenant client-facing technologies, and developing Agile team culture focused on delivering valued business outcomes. He plans to leverage those skills in tandem with his passion for quality to drive the HomeFinder technology vision forward.
Originally from New Jersey, Ryan lives on the North Shore with his wife and three children. When not at Homefinder or with his family, Ryan can be found volunteering, on the golf course, or playing ice hockey, depending on the season.
